About me
My name is Aoibheann (pronounced “Aveen”), and I am a Sports Physiotherapist and Pilates instructor from Ireland.
I began teaching Pilates in 2016, and quickly recognized it’s ability to empower people to transform their health and fitness. Since then I have worked with people of all abilities, from those who have hardly exercised before to elite level athletes. I believe almost anyone can benefit from Pilates, and I love the profound improvement it can make to people’s quality of life. Pilates helped me improve my functional fitness in the things I love doing, such as hiking, weightlifting and mountain biking, to name a few! I hope to show you how it can for you too.
I set up this website to bring Pilates to you at home. From my knowledge as a physiotherapist, to my experience as a Pilates instructor, let me share my knowledge with you and help you to transform! I want you to become stronger, fitter, more mobile and educated on how your body moves. Pilates benefits everyone, can be super accessible and doesn’t have to be in an expensive studio using a lot of equipment. All you need is a mat. It’s even better if you bring it all outside and get into nature too!
My teaching technique
Throughout my career as both a physiotherapist and as a Pilates instructor, I have seen a huge variety of exercise capabilities. I understand that every body is unique and moves in a different way. I tailor my teaching to specific abilities, giving a progressive flow through exercise and ensuring my clients have multiple options depending on how hard they want to push themselves.
I teach mindful movement through mindful muscle activation. This supports long-lasting results, and enhances strength, stability and balance.
